Jim McLean Golf Schools Hires One of GOLF Magazine's Top Instructors Ted Britschgi, one of GOLF Magazine’s Top Instructors in America, and contributor to GOLF Magazine and Golf Digest, has joined the elite instruction staff at the Jim McLean Golf School at The Wigwam Golf Resort & Spa. With more than 20 years of instruction experience, he brings the latest teaching techniques and most researched science on the golf swing to Arizona. Britschgi incorporates a state-of-the-art video system with his wealth of knowledge to maximize students’ comprehension and rapidly improve their swing. One of only a few Titleist Certified Fitness Instructors, he uses an innovative approach that supports each student’s physical abilities to create a swing that works for their body. Students receive a cutting edge video of each lesson, which includes tips and homework. Britschgi’s teaching technique allows students to see results and take them home, increasing knowledge retention. Prior to joining the Jim McLean Golf School, Britschgi was Director of Instructor Training for the PGA Tour Academy at the World Golf Hall of Fame in St. Augustine, Fla. He also led the Dave Pelz Short Game Schools in South Florida, where he was nominated as one of Golf Digest’s Top Instructors. A certified Golfing Machine Instructor, he has mastered his teaching skills by working directly with some of the greats, including Mac O’Grady, David Leadbetter, Dave Pelz and 2004 PGA National Teacher of the Year Laird Small. His inspiration comes from legends such as Sam Snead, Ted Kroll and Doug Ford. Britsghi has taught PGA Tour players Lee Janzen, Tom Shaw, Grant Waite and many women on the Futures Tour. His amateur students read like a who’s who including NBC anchorman Tom Brokaw, Hall of Fame Football coach Don Shula, One Minute Manager author Dr. Ken Blanchard and Life Success Coach Anthony Robbins. He was personally selected and certified by Robbins to lead and teach the Life Mastery Programs around the world. A well-rounded instructor, he uses his degree in Psychology and his Anthony Robbins education to understand students’ different learning styles and tailors his lessons to each individual student. Years of direct study with mental coaches Dr. Robert Rotella, Dr. Robert Niedeffer and Chuck Hogan allow him to support and enhance his students’ mental golf performance. While teaching the most advanced bio-mechanical research available, Britschgi helps keep it simple for his students. “I am a student first,” he says. “It is my responsibility to learn as much as I can on the golf swing and share it with my students. “I take the information I learn to a higher level. Through integrating technology and students’ physical capabilities, I am able to take advantage of the time we spend and make one lesson an investment in the player’s game. I am extremely excited to be teaching for Jim McLean.” For more information about the Jim McLean Golf School, call 623-535-5600. To schedule a lesson with Ted Britschgi, call 407-923-3034.
